We at TALIC aspire to the highest standards of ethical conduct, and expect our vendors and service providers to aspire to the same standards in their business practices. We also expect them to develop training and implementation programs to assure that all their employees and agents understand and adhere to these standards.

standards

Vendors/service providers are committed to uphold human rights for employees and treat them with dignity and respect as understood and interpreted by the international community.

SECTION C

Health
and safety

Vendors/service providers shall recognize that a safe and healthy work environment enhances the quality of products and services, consistency of production, and the employees’ morale. Vendors/service providers shall also recognize that ongoing employee input and education is a key to identifying and solving health and safety issues in the workplace. TALIC encourages its vendors/service providers to join in similar sustainability efforts.

  • SECTION D

    MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

    The vendor/service provider shall adopt or establish a management system the scope of which is in line with this code of conduct. The management system shall be designed in compliance with the applicable laws, regulations and customer requirements related to their operations and products/services, conformance with this code, and identification and mitigation of operational risks related to this code.

    The vendor/service provider’s management systems shall recognize and ensure that they integrate corporate social responsibility requirements, legal & compliance requirements, establish proper risk assessment and risk management policies/systems, impart periodic training, encourage employee feedback and participation, conduct audits and assessments, define corrective action processes, and retain the required documentation and records.

    The vendor/service provider shall operate in full compliance with the laws of their respective jurisdiction and with all other applicable laws, rules and regulations.

    All Vendors Service Providers can raise their concerns in confidence (whistleblow) about any inappropriate/questionable business conduct or violation of Tata AIA Insurance Company Ltd. code of conduct, or any other laws, rules and regulations that arise during the course of their business engagement with TALIC, by:

    • logging on to our website (https://whistleblower.tataaia.com),
    • writing an email at tataalaindia@tip-offs.com, or
    • calling the Ethics helpline at 000 800 100 4382 (Toll free 24X7).

    TALIC is committed to provide the requisite safeguards for the protection of the persons who raise such concerns, from reprisals, victimization, or for whistleblowing in good faith.

  • SECTION E

    Other compliance requirements

    The vendor/service provider shall not give any gifts or cash or cash equivalents, including but limited to, gift certificates, cheques, travellers cheques or money orders, financial securities or entertainment or payment of any kind to any of TALIC’s employees or associates.

    TALIC employees shall neither accept nor present a gift or entertainment (including, but not limited to, beverages, recreation, lodging, transportation and tickets) for the purpose of improperly influencing good business judgment in any business dealing or transaction involving Tata AIA Life Insurance Company Ltd. or any business or enterprise associated with Tata AIA Life Insurance Company Ltd.

    The vendor/service provider and/or Tata AIA Life Insurance Company Ltd. and its employees shall neither receive, nor offer or make directly or indirectly, any illegal payments, remuneration, gifts, donations or comparable benefits that are intended, or perceived to be intended, to obtain uncompetitive favors for the conduct of its business. Both parties shall cooperate with government authorities in efforts to eliminate any and all forms of bribery, fraud and corruption.

    The vendors/service providers are our business partners who serve as extensions of Tata AIA Life Insurance Company Ltd. When working on behalf of Tata AIA Life Insurance Company Ltd., business partners are expected to adhere to this code of conduct, and to any applicable contractual provisions/agreements.

    The vendor/service provider shall ensure that the employees of TALIC are treated with respect, dignity, and in accordance with the Tata AIA Life Insurance Company Ltd.’s policy of keeping the work environment free of all forms of harassment - be it physical, verbal or psychological.

    We do not discriminate on the basis of race, colour, caste, religion, ancestry, gender, origin, age, nationality, disability, history of military service, marital status or sexual orientation in our workplace, or in the course of conducting our business. All business decisions shall be considered solely on merit, without weighing any characteristic/trait protected by the applicable law. Finally, the vendor/service provider shall respect others’ values and opinions and shall not treat them in a harassing or threatening manner.

    Tata AIA Life Insurance Company Ltd. is committed to meeting its responsibilities to help prevent money laundering and terrorist financing. The scope of these responsibilities generally extends to reporting any suspicious or unusual activity that is inconsistent with the applicable laws. Vendors/service providers too, are required to abide by anti-money laundering requirements.
