Tata AIA Life Insurance Company, therefore dedicates 2% of the average net profits made during the three preceding financial years for fueling undertakings that are relevant to the communities of our ecosystem. We also work with the Tata Trusts to create impact in the rural communities, and take a prevention and protection focused approach, particularly in the verticals of health and sanitation. We also extend our focus to eradicating hunger, poverty and malnutrition. Tata AIA also recognizes the urgency and scale of action needed to tackle climate change. As a result, ensuring environmental sustainability, ecological balance, protection of flora and fauna, animal welfare, agroforestry, conservation of natural resources and maintaining quality of soil, air and water define some of the key objectives of initiatives and undertakings of the Tata AIA Life Insurance to bring sustainability to the planet. Moreover, we partner with organizations and join hands with internal and external stakeholders to bring gender equality, better health and well being and quality education and to reduce inequalities in our stakeholder communities.

Good Health and Well-Being

We are committed to improving the health and well-being of our communities, and more importantly, of those that need it the most. Here are some of our initiatives:

  • abc

    Oscar Foundation uses football as a tool to instil the values of education in children and youth from low-income communities in India. We joined hands with the Oscar Foundation to deliver weekly football and life skill sessions along with education classes to bring an all round impact to the lives of 175 underprivileged girls of Cuffe Parade slum in Mumbai.

  • Health and Sanitation - Promotion of menstrual hygiene amongst tribal women and girls – Maharashtra

    The overall objective of this initiative through a strategic partnership between Tata AIA Life and the Tata Trusts is to offer information and solutions across the Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) value chain to promote the goal of safe and effective Menstrual Hygiene Management

     The overall objective of this initiative through a strategic partnership between Tata AIA Life Insurance and the Tata Trusts is to offer information and solutions across the Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) value chain to promote the goal of safe and effective Menstrual Hygiene Management
     
  • Setting up COVID facilities/hospitals

     This initiative is a collaboration between Tata AIA Life Insurance and Tata Education and Development Trust to support in setting up COVID facilities at SLN Hospital, Koraput Odhisa and Reynold’s Memorial, Washim, Akola. This is a part of our attempt to drive vaccination uptake amongst our consumers by pledging this amount to the said cause.

Quality Education

We believe that access to quality education is of paramount importance, especially to underprivileged communities, in order to create equitable growth in the larger scheme of things. Here are some of our undertakings that highlight our commitment to making quality education accessible:

  • Education and football coaching of girl students

    Weekly football and life skill sessions are conducted along with education classes to strengthen basic subjects for underprivileged girls in slums of Mumbai.

Gender Equality

Sustainable growth is, by definition, inclusive. We believe that gender equality is a critical component of growth in any and all communities. Our commitment to promoting gender equality extends beyond the workplace. Here are some of our initiatives that aim to promote gender equality:

  • Women Empowerment by Strengthening Self Help Groups (SHG), Income Enhancement and Anaemia Control

    Skill development programs for SHG members- Programs on garment making, papad making, agarbatti making, tourism based activities (hotel), kirana shop, tea stall, flour mill, mirchi kandap (Chilly Grinding) etc.

    Enhance income of SHG members- Coordination with Nationalised Banks and Government Departments to avail loan and different Government schemes.

    Organize preventive health care and nutrition programs for adolescent girls, women and children- Conduct medical health camps, anaemia detection test for women and adolescent girls.

Social Equity

Tata AIA Life Insurance is committed to improving the quality of life of communities, and social equity forms a major part of the challenge. Bridging the inequality gap remains the major focus of such initiatives, and promoting fairness and justice are equally important outcomes. Here are some undertakings that demonstrate our commitment towards bringing social equity:

  • Annual Scholarship for meritorious SC/ST students

     Tata AIA Life Insurance supports FAEA to fund professional education of meritorious youth from the SC/ST communities. Most of the scholars attend professional courses in engineering and medicine, which are of four years’ duration.

Volunteering

At Tata AIA Life Insurance, we believe in 'giving back to the society' which can best be practiced by rolling up our sleeves. Volunteering is one of the aspects that we have chosen to give our people a platform to be the change they wish to see in this world.
