Types of Exercises To Improve Eyesight
Eye improvement exercises can help tremendously with your eyesight health. Let us focus on some good exercises and yoga for eyesight.
The 20-20-20 Rule
Let us begin with something easily attainable. If you are someone who has to be in front of the screen for work or studies, you can make it your motto to follow this 20-20-20 rule. The 20-20 rule is one of the best eye exercises to improve vision naturally.
After 20 minutes of looking at the screen, look at any object 20 feet away from you for about 20 seconds. This way you can stay away from the constant attack of rays while also giving your eyes a good rest from their job.
Blinking
We, as humans, do this unconsciously multiple times a day. Blinking is extremely important because it helps distribute the oil across your eyes to facilitate lubrication.
You might not be blinking very frequently if you work on a computer. When you are taking a break for the 20-20-20 rule, you can do this as well. Take a small break to blink multiple times. Close your eyes for a couple of minutes to give them some rest before you resume your work.
Palming
Sit calmly with your eyes closed and take deep breaths. Rub your palms vigorously until they are warm, then place them softly on your eyes. You will feel the warmth settle in your eyes and a sense of quiet with it.
You will instantly feel a difference after doing this. Do not remove your palms instantly, let the feeling sink in. Once you no longer feel the warmth in your palms, remove your hands and repeat the process. You can repeat this process at least 3 times in one go and two to three times a day.
All directions
Sit straight and extend your legs in front of you. Extend your hand forward with a thumbs-up gesture. Now as you move your hand in different directions, follow it with your eyes.
First, move your right hand to the right direction, then move your left hand to the left, and lastly, move any hand upwards. Follow your hand with your eyes but do not move your neck while performing this exercise. Later, move your eyes round and round, clockwise and then anti-clockwise.
Repeat this exercise until your eyes have loosened up and you feel fresh. You will definitely feel the difference and observe your eyes no longer feel stressed.
Infinity
Infinity is another one from the eye exercises to improve vision fast. This practice helps to strengthen and stretch your eye muscles. This is how you do it. Concentrate your attention on a place around 10 feet away. Draw an imagined '8', the infinity sign, along this spot with your eyes. Repeat for 30 seconds, then switch directions. This way, you are relaxing your eye muscles.
Near and Distant Focus
This exercise increases the flexibility of your eyes and improves your attention or focus. You will have to sit on the floor, and hold a pencil at least 6 inches away from your nose. Look at the tip of the pencil and swiftly shift your focus to an object around 10 to 20 feet distant.
Do this for a few seconds, then return your attention to the pencil tip. Every day, repeat the method ten times. As your vision improves, you might begin to shift to items that are further away.
Nose Tip Gazing
Cross your legs and sit on the floor. Raise your right arm straight in front of your nose, making a fist with your hand and thumb out. Bend your arm and slowly touch your thumb to the tip of your nose, keeping your gaze on the tip of your thumb. Hold this position for a few seconds, with the thumb at the tip of the nose and the eyes concentrated there. After some time, you can move your hand away. Repeat this cycle for at least 5 times.
Note that these exercises are safe and help in relaxing your eyes and improving your vision naturally over time. However, if you feel any discomfort or pain while performing them, stop immediately and consult a doctor.
