Coronavirus Preventive Tips for Disinfecting and Sanitising Surfaces

Coronavirus is a life-threatening infectious disease. The best way to deal with it is to prevent it from occurring. This can be done by disinfecting and sanitising the surfaces and following strict safety guidelines.

Coronavirus — the name is enough to revisit the traumatising situation caused by this deadly pandemic a few years back.

The COVID-19 pandemic has not only killed millions of people around the world but also pushed the global economy to the ground. Thanks to the combined efforts of the government and scientists, we now have vaccines for this deadly viral disease. In fact, health insurance and life insurance policies these days also come with coverage for coronavirus.

While it may not be making the headlines as it used to be, Covid-19 is not completely gone. For the same reason, it is important to safeguard yourself against it.

But how?

By following the coronavirus preventive tips we are sharing in this blog.

What is Coronavirus, and How is it Caused?

Coronavirus are a family of viruses prevalent in both humans and animals. Coronavirus diseases can range from the common cold to severe respiratory conditions like COVID-19, which led to significant health implications and global consequences.

The recent COVID-19 was caused by the novel coronavirus or SARS-COV-2. It primarily spreads through the respiratory fluids from an infected person's cough and sneeze.

After catching the virus, the victim can experience various mild to severe symptoms, including fever, chills, sneezing, cough, pneumonia and multiple body-part failure.

Useful Tips for Coronavirus Prevention India

Now that you are aware of the causes and prevention of coronavirus let’s discuss some useful tips for the prevention of coronavirus in India.

  • Use Masks In Public Areas

Wearing masks in public places may not be as mandatory as it was before, but it is highly advisable for your own safety. So, make a habit of wearing a good quality face mask in crowded spaces and public transports like buses, trains, metros, etc.

This small habit will protect you from coronavirus and keep you safe from harmful dirt, dust, and pollution. You can either wear a surgical mask or masks made from cotton cloth. If you are sick, then it is a good idea to wear an N-95 mask.

  • Take Care of Your Immunity

The early reports of coronavirus suggested that this infection is more prevalent in people with a weaker immune system. Therefore, if you don’t want to get affected by the virus, work on your immunity.

For this, follow a healthy diet and perform exercises regularly. Besides, make sure to get daily doses of multivitamins and other micronutrients through natural sources such as fruits, vegetables, nuts, etc.

  • Wash Hands Several Times a Day

While this coronavirus prevention treatment tip may sound basic, it is very effective in the prevention of coronavirus in India. Make a habit of washing your hands several times a day with a good-quality soap or hand wash.

Do this after coming from outside, prior to and post taking any meals, after touching any item or object in public use and so on. If you cannot wash your hands for some reason, use a good-quality hand sanitiser.

  • Avoid Any Contact With Your Nose, Eyes, or Mouth With Dirty Hands

Most people have a habit of touching their mouth, eyes, and nose every now and then. Note that this can speed up the infection to a great extent. Therefore, avoid touching your face without washing or sanitising your hands thoroughly.

  • Maintain Coronavirus Safety Guidelines

Following safety guidelines is an important step towards coronavirus prevention in India. Hence, always follow the rules and safety guidelines issued by the government to combat coronavirus. These include the following:

    • Maintain good personal hygiene.
    • Wash your hands multiple times with soap and water.
    • Follow social distancing.
    • Avoid passing any false news regarding the coronavirus.
    • Stay indoors unless and until it is required.
    • Don’t ignore any symptoms, and get in touch with your healthcare provider as soon as possible.
    • Don’t panic.

Coronavirus Preventive Tips for Disinfecting and Sanitising Surfaces

While most of us are aware of the importance of maintaining clean and hygienic surroundings, not everyone knows the clear way to do it. With that in mind, we have outlined a few useful ways to disinfect and sanitise the surfaces. Check them out.

  • Clean High-touch Surfaces Frequently

High-touch surfaces refer to the objects that are touched very frequently by you and your family. These include door handles, tables, light switches, vehicles, electronic appliances such as computers, mobile phones, laptops, remote controls, and more.

Since everyone uses them frequently, they have higher chances of accumulating the coronavirus. Hence, all such surfaces should be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected on a daily basis.

  • Use Household Cleaners to Disinfect Surfaces

You need to invest in advanced cleaning products for sanitising and disinfecting your surroundings. You can use simple household cleaning products for the same purpose. In fact, you can even make your DIY cleaning solutions by mixing soap with lukewarm water.

You can also use WHO-recommended chlorine with 0.1% diluted bleach solution for disinfecting the surfaces. For cleaning electronic appliances, you can use disinfectant sprays with 70%-80% alcohol content. Moreover, follow the manufacturing guidelines when cleaning electronic items.

  • Avoid Using Disinfectant Sprays Indoors

Disinfectant sprays can contain higher concentrations of alcohol, which is not good for your and your family’s health. Therefore, avoid using such sprays indoors, especially if you have kids, pets, and elderly at home. Instead, you can use simple wet wipes to clean the indoor areas.

  • Wear Disposable Gloves While Cleaning and Disinfecting

When cleaning and disinfecting the surfaces, you are likely to get in contact with the coronavirus and other harmful pathogens. Hence, wearing a pair of clean and disposable gloves is important. Moreover, change your clothes and wash your hands thoroughly after you are done cleaning. It will prevent you from catching the infection and prevent the virus from spreading.

Final Words

Coronavirus is a dangerously infectious disease caused by the family of SARS-CoV-2 viruses. Understanding its causes and prevention will help in combating coronavirus on a global level.

This blog discussed some of the most useful tips for the prevention of coronavirus in India. Now it’s your turn to follow them and safeguard yourself and your family against this lethal viral disease.
